Canbulat, the Bey (a provincial governor in the Ottoman Empire) of Kilis, was included in the Ottoman forces that were going to conquer Cyprus. As he was extremely succesful during the capture of Nicosia, he was appointed to the Ottoman army laying siege to Famagusta along with Iskender Pasha and Deniz Pasha. As he is believed to have been killed in the vicinity of the Arsenal Bastion his tomb is under this bastion. The building was restored in 1968 and the front section was turned into an etnographic and archaeological museum.
